Create a competition for the best costume
Competitions are fun. Costumes are fun. Competitions are more fun when there is a prize. You get the picture.
If you’re hosting a sports event, consider making it into an event that involves dressing up in costumes as well as playing games. You can even make this part of the actual competition! For example: the winner gets to be their favorite character from their favorite movie or show for one day (this could be anything from dressing up like Elsa from Frozen to wearing your best superhero costume). If they don’t want to do that, then maybe they get something else instead–maybe some money towards buying new clothes or accessories for their next costume party? Or maybe even just bragging rights would suffice?
Design a new game
If you’re a coach, the best way to make your sports competition more fun is by designing a new game. You can use this activity as part of your pre-season training or during the season itself.
